Gonna replace the battery today...
in Scootergrrl's bike. Shwe left the ignition on for 3 hours during the photoshoot while some other dipchit was photograping her, and teh battery died. I jumped it and rode it around a bit, but still not enough juice to turn over the started when cold, so she bought a new one. My question is whether having the smart siren II in the bike is going to affect this change. Obviously I'll turn the slaarm and siren off, but will it go off when I take the old battery out? Deos anyone know? Do I need to unplug the harness from the siren? Any help will be appreciated. II will just have to do this, but we shall see...

Riding the bike around wouldn't charge it, but if it is a pretty new battery you can just get it charged on a battery charger and it should be fine.
Can't answer your question about the alarm. I have never had one on a bike.

Bill

I do not know about the alarm issue...as I have never had an alarm system on anything I've owned yet.
After the battery has been replaced though. It is highly recommended that you check the charging system as well. It would be a shame to put a new battery on and then only to have it dead in a month because the charging system was not charging. It would be like having new brake pads installed and having a master cylinder nearly empty.

Did you put the battery on the tender first to see if it's really dead? My daughter is always leaving the headlights on with her car......I keep charging em back up. Not a problem.

I have had my battery cables off 3 times and the alarm never went off.
It doesn't make sense why you would go out and buy a new battery, just because it ran down from leaving the ignition on.
