Default Childrens riding gear

I see this all the time, a father taking his son or daughter out for a ride.Good intentions, but a lot of the times the child, usually it looks like a kid 8-12 years old has on sandals, shorts, t-shirt. As adults we can make decisions as to proper riding gear, but a child doesn't know. He or she is relying on the adults judgement. Everytime I see this I feel like telling them to protect their children better. But at that point I'd be crossing the line on telling folks how to treat their kids. Sad situation.

Proper riding gear is one of the biggest reasons my son hasn't been on my bike yet. He is almost 9 years old. He grows SO fast that I just can't justify spending the money on riding gear for him. It won't last an entire season!!!

As a result, he does not to ride with dad.

Crack open the wallet. The times together for the both of you will be priceless. Jackets and pants can be bought a little larger. Gloves probably won't change that much. Boots will probably only last aa year. I have no idea about helmets. But the value will outweigh the costs.

I take my 6 year old daughter on rides all the time. We just never leave base...She still wears long pants, boots, jacket and a helmet and we never get over 35...She knows the rules. No gear, no ride...

Try resale shops or e-bay. Buy the stuff a bit too large then when he outgrows it sell it.
