No helmet law here, but it is an extreme rarity, that I ride w/o one.
The way I figure it is this: Murphy's law says that if you ride helmeted, that you will NEVER knock your head off of the pavement hard enuff to cause an injury. But, the day you take it off, some granny will rear end you at 10 mph, you will go backwards off the bike, and die from a freak head injury.

I never wore a helmet til I moved to Phoenix. Now its like my seatbelt. I put it on as soon as I start the car...safety first, looking cool, not important anymore....

RE: Helmet/No Helmet?
Used to be only on long trips, full leather and helmet then.
Last Spring a woman driver pulled out from a side road with a Stop Sign, three car length's in front of me.
Lucked out with only an ankle tendon ripped apart. No helmet on during that short ride, and all I saw was my bike headed for the car's passenger door. I should be dead.
I am very leary now about riding without my helmet. I still do it, but not as often as before.
