Because it is severely underpowered. A stock 88 is close to an embarassment in comparrison to just about all others. If it did not say HD you couldn't sell one. That said, HD is all I will ever own.

Because 88" in a bagger is a gutless wonder!! Riding a motorcycle is more than just about getting from point A to point B....It is also about exhileration. The stock baggers didn't have any IMO...not sure about the new 96"ers...There is just too much weight there for that small a motor. 95" should have been standard equipment in the touring line.
Now I've got friends with FXDWG'S AND FXST'S ...both at 88" and they are nice quick bikes and I probably could have been happy enough with a stage I job on them.
