Learn to Ride Before Buying

Any of us can wreck that's a given, but I always hate it when i hear on here or out and about when someone says they are going to buy a bike and never rode one, not even a dirt bike. I'm not saying i'm the best rider or I can't wreck, becuase again it can happen to any of us, but man bikes are not for noob's IMO. I'm 35 and started riding motor bikes when I was 6, still have that first bike and then rode dirt for years and years-made going to street easy. May God be with his fam and I guess it's better that he died living out a dream then in some bed never getting to have his bike.

I notice that the report does not give us details of who was at fault or what really happened. Why did he collide with the tractor truck, 18 wheeler?
Anyway, this is a sad very rare accident. Someone in a Prius could have been in the same situation and have had the same outcome.

It is a sad deal but in a strange way i am happy for him. I bet that was the best three miles he had ever been in his life.
Quote from the family
Pam said she feels no anger or resentment at the cruel irony of the situation. Her husband lived his life to the fullest and died living life to the fullest, she said.
“It was something he wanted his whole life,” Pam said. “It’s like my son said, ‘Dad went out with the biggest smile on his face.’”

Yep. Monday I think.
I bought my first bike before I could ride it. A guy at the shop rode it home for me. Even if i knew how I couldn't because 1. It was a jockey shift 2. I didn't have a license of any kind.

Damn.........Very tragic.
My brother-in-law got 10 minutes away from the honda dealer where he bought a new scooter. Ran into a stationary pickup truck when he tried to make a right turn at a intersection. Couldn't handle the thing....almost lost his leg, but he survived.
