It's all about quality with me. Function over looks. Some after market stuff is just junk. I'm a touchy feely guy, so buying online is rarely an option. I usually go with word of mouth from friends that have the better stuff. This forum is really good for that. I have no problem with HD stuff but hate skulls and flames so that leaves most of their accessories out. Engine stuff I use well know companies...CycleRama, S&S, etc. Suspension is all aftermarket as HD 's stuff is weak. My bike has no chrome but if you like it HD 's is very good in most cases.

I was being facetious. Between fits except for FXSTD and people on here telling other not to buy a Deuce because of "fits except for FXSTD", they might as well not make anything for it.

I look for quality and function. My major objection to "Genuine H-D accessories" is their obsessive need to brand EVERYTHING they sell with a logo. Just how many places does my bike need to say "Harley-Davidson" on it, anyway? Do they think I'm going to forget what I'm riding?

On modern era bikes (sorry TwiZted) HD makes just about anything you could want on your bike. Yes they are expensive. But you know, without a doubt, that if it says it's made for your year motorcycle, it's going to fit and do what they say it will do.

Doesn't bother me I didn't use the dealers when they did have stuff except for real repair parts not bling .
