What makes a bike a Stage 1 or 2. Changing the air intake an exhaust? Always see this but have never figured it out. thanks

 

Stage 1 consists of changing the muffler and air filter, and possibly adding a tuner. Stage 2 is redoing the engine...Pistons, cams, boring it out, whatever you wanna do...I think...

The SE free breathing air cleaner and required ecm download is what harley considers the Stage 1 mod. its laid out in the catalog.

 

stage 1 is done at the local stealership and wakes up your motor somwhat.
