Default Twin cam clutch in '93 evo problems

Hey guys i'm trying to install a twin cam clutch in my '93 fxdwg because my clutch is totally junk the bearing is floating in the basket and the inner hub has a crack in the snap ring groove.I found a complete twin cam 5 speed clutch for less than it would cost for just a new chinese basket.I got the clutch installed and adjusted the clutch screw. The problem I'm having is that there is too much slack in the clutch cable and I'm out of adjustment before it gets to about 3/16 gap at the handle.I know they ran this same clutch in the '98 and '99 evo's I'm wondering if they changed the ball and ramp to a different angle or something ?
