Is dino oil really that bad for Harleys?

I've been running regular Valvoline VR1 20W-50 in winter and 50wt in summer. She's approaching 100k miles and running like a top

IMO NO! I just run the normal HD oil and have for years-no issues.

I think the MoCo does this to "pre void" the warranty...kinda good thinking on the MoCo's part, it just saves the buyer the trouble of having to do it themselves.

Just for clarification does bad mean good here, or does bad mean bad...lol.

I use peanut oil...well just because, I think it comes from compressed dinosaurs. In a pinch I use sunflower oil...I don't know where that comes from.

I run 20 - 50 motorcycle rated oil. Motorcycles need more sheer factor than cars do.

News flash. 50 or more years ago folks thought that oil was the left over fat from dinosaurs. With the advance of science it was learned that it is all compressed algae from the sea millions of years ago. It is now correctly called mineral oil.

Mineral Oil? Sounds kinda grainy.
