I'm currently working with CT Legislators to change the 15-inch handlebar height restriction in CT. We had a public hearing last week which went well but they are not willing to simply repeal the law and allow us to ride without height restriction. DMV seems to be stuck on needing to have a height regulation even though the legislative report that was done last fall clearly states that there is no scientifically proven safety issue and that 16 states now have no height restriction.

I am currently collecting as much information as I can from states that have fought this issue and won. I am looking for public hearing records or any other information that I can present to our DMV and legislators to help clearly demonstrate that the height restrictive law needs to be let go of. Anyone have information that would be helpful?

really makes one wonder, with all the major issues that gov't will not address they make laws like these, we've been in trouble for many years, I think its time to kick all those fatazzes out of gov't and start over.

 

The SC General Assembly passed legislation last year to do away with our height restriction. IIRC, the ABATE folks did the grunt work on that.
