Default Looking for recommendation to replace carb on 1984 FXRS

I've tried to read various websites but remain confused on fitment. I'm not much with the tools, but would like an easy to install carb. I'm tired of my problems with the Kehnin. The Mikuni looks attractive. Any opinions on carbs for that early Evo?

I was advised that unless your motor is Highly tweaked a later model CV type carb and matching manifold is all that you need.

There is an individual on "That Auction site" that sells performance tuned carb's under the Killer Carb heading, goes by the name of Dale, that has a following.

Mine was just re-jetted and somewhat polished, polished manifold, big sucker intake.

World of difference. Smoother all the way through the rpm range.

S&S E , it's about as simple stupid to install & tune as a carb gets and reliable and lets face it the tear drop air cleaner is classic old school harley . Mikuni's are good carbs too but the down side they can be a pain to install and get the cables right and almost impossible to tune correctly for the novice .

Put the 42mm Mikuni on it.

You won't regret it.

I had one on my 1990 FXRS -- easy starting, smooth running, right off the shelf.
