How high is your toe shifter?

I've tried the rear shifter here and there but its not yet something I'm comfortable with. As long as the 2 shifters are fully independent I guess I'll raise the front and try it that way for a bit. If its too awkward then I guess My best choice will be to get used to the rear shifter. I do have the extended lever arms on both. Getting under the shifter was not really an issue on my prior bikes because they had footpegs but the floorboards are so much nicer that I'm definitely keeping those.

My front shifter is extended 1 inch and rear 1 1/2 inches. I then adjusted them so they are both as low as possible so to up or down shift all I have to do is step on it. I only have 13's

For those who have floorboards, how high do you adjust your toe shifter? This is my first bike with floorboards and I cant even come close to getting the front of by boot or shoe under the shifter. So its pretty much a matter of catching the shift lever with the sole/side of my foot. Or use the heel shifter.
So where do you keep your shifter set? I'm thinking about 1/4" taller than my shoe could be a target but that might be a reach for downshiting. Size 18 shoe/17 boot, have extended shift levers and extended floorboards if that matters.

Take the rear shifter off and adjust the front so your boot just fits under the lever. You can fee the shifts better with your toe than you can with your heel. I am sure I will get some flack from the heel toe lovers , but I prefer just the toe. 45 years of shifting that way has been good for me. Yes, I have done both.

Word of caution, If you adjust your heel shifter down, be certain there is enough room to completely engage the gear. You can cut off the bottom half of the rubber peg if you still have the stock one on.
