Always wondered what would happen if I accidentally did this. Doesn't the engine just kick back on if you did nothing else but turn the kill switch back on, while still going at speed? And why can't Harley disable the kill switch if the bike is going over a certain speed? Is there ever a reason you would need to kill it while going faster than say 20mph?

surprising it took until post #41 before someone reported doing this....lol. usually only happens once or twice before you or your buddies wise up to it.

I've never accidentally hit the kill, but have honked the horn trying to turn left.

Hasn't happened to me yet, but I can't say it won't. Whenever I can, I use the cruise and give my throttle hand a break. Drop it down, get some blood to it.

I used to hit the kill switch on the Jap bikes I was riding as a kid. When I flipped it back on, I got a nice loud "bap" inside the muffler. Fun, especially in a tunnel..

Used to do that when dogs were chasing us.

I did this one time and it startled me. Thankfully I was only going about 45 mph. I just pulled in the clutch and restarted. It did wake me up, that's for sure.
