Default helmet question/ticket

Ok... probably not the right place to post this, so flame away. Got a ticket today for riding with a non-DOT approved helmet. Where can I find a helmet that doesn't leave me with mushroom head? I won't ride without one since laying it down last September(head bounced off the pavement 3 times) but I can't stand the look of every other helmet I've tried. Appreciate any advice

Try a FF for looks, followed by a 3/4 followed by a 1/2. Oh yeah, that is the order of effectiveness too...

So a helmet saved you, and you go on wearing a non-DOT? Yeah, that makes sense.

I have a Daytona 3/4 helmet. It is the lowest DOT helmet I have tried so far. I like it for looks and comfort.

A ticket for that man that sucks freaking cops ticket happy. the Daytona 3/4 is a nice helmet and has a DOT sticker. plus the government can track you with the microchip inside as well. /

This site Bitwell has some cool 3/4 helmets as well. http://www.biltwellinc.com/index.php...t_detail&p=250

My students say that my 1/2 helmet looks dorky...I tell them that at least I'm a live "dork"

screw what it looks like, find one that is comfy and safe.

Protective foam thickness in a helmet is kinda like ***** size, more is better. If I need to explain that then it's doubtful you need a helmet.
