helmet question/ticket

I'd be curious what the second and subsequent years looked like. I doubt helmet laws keep bike lovers from riding.

In other states, new motorcycle sales dropped 41% in Nebraska, 36% in Oregon, and 20% in Texas in the first full year following enactment of their mandatory helmet laws. www.cmtabate.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/helmet_law_facts.pdf
In most states the Death to Accident Ratio (DAR) averages between 2% to 3% both before and after helmet laws have been enacted. (See above link).
The reason there was a reduction in motorcycle fatalities after the passing of helemt laws is only because the number of riders declined. (Again, see above link.) But given your 32% decrease in fatalities, and a decrease of motorcycle registrations was actually 42%, the percentage of fatalities actually increased with mandatory helmet laws in NE. The same is generally true in all other states that enact helmet laws.
Doctors and nurses would not be effected because motorcycle injuries are only about .001% of all vehicle accidents. (Again, see above link.)
Peace.

Protective foam thickness in a helmet is kinda like ***** size, more is better. If I need to explain that then it's doubtful you need a helmet.

Since some people pop their heads like a grape under a boot because of an accident, there are obviously differing levels of injury to a head/brain. Wear a helmet, or don't wear a helmet, I couldn't possibly care less. Just don't count on an accident/head injury ending your life.
You may be in for a rude awakening.

Helmets aren't for everyone. I've got a prosthetic disc in my neck. Mt surgeon tells me not to wear a helmet. The added weight in a mild accident would do major damage because of the added weight. What can I say, I'm unique.

Bought a good carbon fibre "novelty" helmet. Vegas cop gave me a ticket for non DOT. Put back on the $19 one and sent ticket to ticket fixers, so much for trying to be safer.

I wear a Harley 3/4 helmut. Wanted a FF, but I felt confined. Frankly speaking, when I know my head is "confined" my nose starts to itch. A 3/4 helmut makes nose scratching (picking) much essier, even spitting once in a while is more convenient than wearing FF!
