They look like a smaller version of a Road King to me...
Maybe they should've called them the "Lil King". lolol..

I guess if you are 6ft5 and 300 lbs the Road King would be a better choice over the Harley Switchback . The Switchback is LESS EXPENSIVE,LIGHTER, QUICKER and better handling than most of the other Harleys most people posting here own. Like all Harleys to each their own. Some people might want a heavy slow sloth of a tourer that cost $30k others are ok with the smaller bags of the FLD for their own specific needs. Personally I love the Switchback but I also love the Street Glide and Fatboy too. I don't feel the need to bash other models just because it's not my choice. Just to clarify....103 engine / 6spd / light and nimple with easily removed bags and winsdhield ...yeah real dog of a bike
Ride Safe Everyone !!!

Not bashing here, I just don't like the looks of them. To me they look like the Harley marketing dept. was just trying to get one more model out there. How much thought and design went into the wheels?

SB is a nice bike. Sort of like getting a Tahoe instead of a Suburban. If you can't fit whatever you need for a long trip on a SB, then the problem is not the bike. Basically the size of old FL (pan & shovel) and who knows how many miles people put on those on the road...

bigjames4xl I think your bike is sweet. That's the way they should look.

Harleys are classic styled bikes, hence the exposed shocks.

I see lots of Switchbacks on the road around Chicago and Milwaukee. One dealer told me he can't keep them in stock.

There are so many better, more interesting bikes it is hard to spend time wishing this one would make a come back. Survival of the fittest.

Thank you!

The more I ride it the better I like it! If it could run like my old Vrod you couldn't make me ride anything else.

And for the record, I could buy whatever bike I wanted, including a new CVO whatever, BMW, or Gold wing.

maybe it's cause I'm a DYNA fan but I think the Switchback is a great bike. The wheels are some of the better looking wheels HD has came out with. They remind me of older coke bottle cragars.

I shouldn't...but I will reply.

First off to the OP: you know what they say about opinions, and everyone has one. I'm glad you have found a bike to your liking. But your liking isn't for everyone

Secondly, I happen to like my Switchback. I like it because it fits what I need in a bike. As simple as that, and as complicated as that. I came off a Sportster 1200 Low and was looking for something that me and the OL could fit on nicely. I'm 5'7" and she is 5'4". weighing a combined 310ish lbs. Even though it was "only" 1700 more, I couldn't bring myself to thinking that I needed a Road King that is 4 inches longer and weighs 150lbs more than a Switchback. That $1700 has been put to good use on my bike!

When I was looking for my new bike last August, I told my BRB (best riding buddy?!?) that I was considering a Switchback he said no way: bike is ugly, you're not going to like it, get a Wide Glide. Well he has come to like my bike also and uses one of my bags when we go out and he's on his 1up LowRider.

When I bought the Switchback, I thought I'd never ride with the bags or windshield on. Well the windshield holds true, but I hardly ever take the bags off. Just too easy to throw a hoodie in there just in case, or hold my wallet, keys, cell phone, etc everytime I head out.]

The wheels: best mags by Harley that aren't chrome. Well, maybe the new Breakout wheels......maybe. Who doesn't love the look of a torque thrust wheel?

Those who think the 103 doesn't make this bike quicker than their bagger, I hope to see you at a stop light Ask my buddy with his Stage 4 103" Electra Glide

Strip it down and go "bar hopping" or load it up and do 1500 miles in a 3 day weekend, this bike works for a few of us
