Both my wife and I have 2013 Switchbacks that were purchased new in Oct 2013.

Both the bikes have had their suspension upgraded front and rear. My bike also has an Andrews 57H cam. My wife's bike has had the "clevis pin" mod and mine has a full V&H Pro Pipe system, so the vibes are greatly minimized.

I find the FLD to be a great bike. I've toured all over the east coast from the Dragon area up to Maine. Would I like 20 more HP for highway top end, stiffer frame, yada yada yada....but as a whole, it still keeps my interest. I haven't found another bike to sway me away yet, although the Road King gets damn close every year since purchase.

I like it in black and if I were buying a bike this would be it but it's fuel injected soooooo I'm out. I still ride a bike w a carbuerator. Never gonna own EFI. Did once n got rid of it quick. I'm old n like old **** I can fix w/o being extorted from HD.

yup, ,but and it's a game changer for me, living in an area where stabil in the tank and a 3 month minimum rest is part of the landscape, I have yet to suffer from any sort of stale gas or bike run crappy scenario......least not with the efi.....granted an injector goes or a fuel pump ***** the bed.....I can probably fix on my own...........anything else will be extortion as mentioned .

What is the clevis pin mod?

I don't recall ever hearing about any kind of FI failure on these bikes. I've owned 4 of them and the only issue I ever had was a pinhole in the fuel line that runs inside the gas tank, and even with the pin hole the bike ran. So yeah, I don't think FI is a problem.

I was thinking about buying a Switchback until a couple years ago a guy who owned one cranked his up for me and showed me how it shook like a super-charged paint-shaker.

Switch out the exhaust and no more Shake. I know it's crazy who doesn't stay with their stock exhaust??

Yes. The Clevis Pin mod is basically replacing a bolt in the far end of the exhaust bracket with a clevis pin to allow for more mobility in the shaking muffler. Some Switchbacks got a buzz in the bars and pegs at highway speeds the MoCo couldn't figure out why so the masses took upon themselves to fix (go figure).

Or swap that crap out with a V&H, both fix the shakes.

Or red thread the bolt threads with red loctite snug it up and then back it off a full turn....worked for me.
