FWIW, I took demo rides on FLHRCI and FLD back to back a few years ago. The Road King Classic was
silky smooth. Didn't care for the pushed forward riding on top ergos of that model nor weight distribution.
FLD was had everything I wanted except for the vibration though handlebars which caused my left hand to
turn numb. Wasn't as bad as the Dyna Street Bob with baby apes but more so than the Dyna Low Rider. I
am susceptible to the numb hands syndrome.
Ended up with used 2004 FLHRCI which was, to me, a good compromise btw the FLHRI and FLD. That
said, the Olympia 760 Men's Air Force Gel Gloves have definitely helped with the inherent vibration. It's
not as smooth as the 2009+ Road Kings yet smoother than the FLD.

I love my 2014. Yes I do drool over all the othe models, but only because they have a much wider variety of aftermarket parts and mods that you can make. However, I have been experimenting and learning. I am in the process of making my FLD a middleweight touring bike. I have a batwing fairing, a solo w/backrest driver seat, a passenger pilon seat enroute, a chopped tour pack and I am ready to get touring. Great size and weight and lots of power. It's all great! Keep riding and stay safe. Regards and Blessings.

sounds like your '' middleweight'' is gaining weight......I'd get better rear shocks at the very least, the dyna frame is not the best long hauler, jmho.

[QUOTE=rocket23;18449289]Except that there don't seem to be any options for the rear shocks. I wanted to get some Progressive's but there are no upgrades for the FLD. That is a weak spot. Since I don't do long distance rides with a passenger, it should not be a problem.
