The Poor Harley Switchback...

Wish I could justify having 2 bikes. I would keep that FLD forever. I it to work when I can. About a 1/2 hour commute. It rides really nice in the city and interstate, I continue to get unsolicited compliments on what a nice looking bike it is. And it is just plain fun to ride. But...
I am 6'1" and weigh 240. For longer trips I really want a RG or SG. Just love the looks of the new SG Special!!

Hummm, cause my Low Rider made for a phenomenal two up touring bike. The rubber mounted engine made for smooth enjoyable rides. The forward controls were extremely comfortable. And a simple seat upgrade made sitting in the saddle till she ran out of gas, easy and enjoyable. I never saw a down side.

Guess it would depend if they're a hot seller in your area or not.
At dealers near me, there are two models which consistently have unsold examples sitting on the floor at the end of each year - Switchbacks and V-Rods.
Dealers don't like unsold inventory so you'd think getting a good deal would be possible.

Just browsing this old thread and it's hilarious how many posts touting their love for their "new switchback" are made by posters who now have Ultras or other touring bikes as their avatar or sig.
For an older orsmaller person, I can understand the need or desire for a 'smaller' bike, but honestly, when you are talking bikes that are ~700lbs plus, you ain't going to notice much difference between 700 and 900. My SG is more nimble than just about any other non-touring harley I've sat on. Learn how to ride the big bitch and you'll learn exactly why the tourers are Harley's biggest sellers.
