Default Motorcycle Quick Lube

How many riders would like to see a local motorcycle quick lube type shop? The idea would be to offer an oil change/regular maintaince service with out having your bike tied up at the dealer or local mom and pop shops for several hours if not days. This shop would employ certified motorcycle techs and offer state of the art dyno testing as well as regular maintaince and accessory installation. An emphasis would be placed on affordable quality work and customer service second to none. This shop would not only be a place to have your bike serviced quickly so you can spend more time riding but it would also be a great hang out for bikers with a comfortable lounge area serving refreshments, internet hot spot, and also a showroom full of the latest motorcycle accessories. You could even purchase that much needed accessory from our showroom and have it installed while you wait! This wouldn't be for the do it yourselfer but it would be for those who want to keep their bikes running smoothe but don't have the time or the know how to do so.

So please let me know what you think. Especially the riders from Texas.

Thanks,

Bryan

Good luck with your venture.

Me, I'm cranky, and I don't trust anybody wrenching on my Train but me.

Yeah, I don't trust anyone but me to work on my vehicles or my bike...you know what they say, if you want it done right...

I think it is a great idea as long as you have some great mechanics with well-known reputations. Hell, here in Tuscaloosa you can hardly find a decent HArley mechanic, much less a shop that does quality work. The best mechanic we had intown died of a Heart Attack 3 years ago this spring and the guy that filled his shoes went back into construction work about a year ago. I hope your idea gets off the ground...Good Luck!

I think it's too broad in scope - the overhead would kill it, at least starting out. A Quick Lube would be a fine start and relatively inexpensive to start. One dedicated guy could do it by himself to get started.
Someone has posted on here about a mobile mechanic service in Los Angeles area. Really low overhead - a trailer, lift, tools and a cell phone. Lots of RUBs would be happy to have the hassle of maintenance eliminated by writing a check.

I agree with Teachu2. I bet there is plenty of people that ride that don't know how to or has the time to wrench. Just a oil and filter change and check the tread depth etc. Would be a great service for plenty of people.

A mobile mechanics service does sound like a great idea. Wouldn't have too much overhead, either!

I don't believe there are enough riders to support the venture. Nice idea.
