Road King shut off while drive
Hi every one. I just by my first Harley road king classic 2001.
Drive it yesterday for a while and on the road just shut off. I try to start but nothing. I wait for 20min and start it and drive for 2 miles and it shut off again. It happen couple of times when I was on my way home. This morrnig I start, and he start normaly.Drive for couple of rounds by the street and it shut off again.
Like when he reach warm temp. it just shut off engine. fuel pump it start every time when I give contact. Also on the shifting gear from high to low it start to fireing, and it shut off only when shifting from high to low. Could be the spark problem? I am in Europe in small country where is only few Harley's

Not enough to go on but:
I would look at the fuel lfilter first.
When it shuts down does it lies all electrical power? Headlights and all?
If so, check the grounds for the battery.
If neither of those, possibly the ignitin coil.
You need to narrow down exactly when it happens to isolate what to start checking.

I think there was a service bulletin for increasing the amp rating on the main circuit breaker. Check with a HD shop or maybe e-mail MOCO in the Harley motherland. The problem was the main CB would overheat and shutdown the bike.

Checking the battery terminals, both positive and negative at the battery is a good place to start looking.
Also check the ground cable where it is bolted to the frame.
Ignition coils and ECM's have a tendency to "breakdown" under heat and diagnosing either without proper equipmment can be almost impossible.
Artifically heating either (with a hair dryer) with the bike running should shut the bike down very quickly if this is the problem.
Quickly applying an ice bag (to quickly cool) would then confirm the problem.
I've never had a coil to go bad on any motorcycle, and I've only had one ECM ('87 FXSTC) and it had different symptoms.
It quit once on the freeway, was hard to start a few times, and then finally it wouldn't start at all
Another consideration is the ignition switch and the "kill" switch.
I had to replace the ignition swith on the '87 FXSTC, and recently a "kill" switch on my 2000 Ultra Classic.
The Ultra quit running a few times but would usually quickly start again but there's no doubt that in time it would have totally failed ad I was fortunate to be home (with a trailer) and took it to the shop.
If you have the tools and some mechanical ability you may want to take a look at the "kill" switch.
Good luck and I hope you can locate your "Gremlin"

Sounds like the Bank Angle Sensor. When it becomes defective, it "senses" that your bike has fallen over or laid down beyond the 45 degree angle and it shuts the bike down. If you turn the ignition switch off and on, it will recycle it and the bike will start and run for a brief period of time. This happened to me two days before leaving for Sturgis several years ago. Part cost was about $25 USD at the time.

Thank you all. I will go step by step. Today I take out sparks, one of them was dry and one was wet. I replace both of them and today I drive and so far no shut down. But I will get closer in all these sugestions. Thanks.
