Hi..I'm thinking of buying a 2013 ultra classic. Any pro's and con's or opinion's would be appreciated. Currently riding 07 classic. Thanks for your input

 

Pro's - New frame, 103 engine, larger rear tire, slightly more carrying capacity in bags and TP. Brembo brakes, etc,etc.

Cons- You start over adding mods

I went from a 2007 RKC to a 2010 Ultra Limited and have no regrets.

 

Ultra's went through a whole list of changes in 09. New frame, reroute the pipes, and more. I had an 07 and it was one of the hot ones, my 09 is great and other than the cats in the pipe (con) the 13 will be a different, better IMO, ride than your 07.

Pros - better handling, still hot but less than your 07, more luggage space
Cons - still hot

 

I'm on my second Ultra, which is an 07. Three weeks ago the factory demo team came through here and I rode the 2013 Ultra Classic Limited. If you can swing it, this is the ultimate tourer. It handles excellent, plenty of power, the brakes are awesome, and it comes with a lot of accessories the regular Ultra doesn't have. If I weren't so old and feeble, I'd buy one to replace my current ride. Go for it.!

 

IMHO, the biggest "con" is the catalytic converter.

Too much heat in order to get a "clean" fuel burn and the engine and the rider takes the brunt of the heat.

THere are ways to rectify the problem and I'd recommend doing it to a new bike a.s.a.p.!

 

This! When it comes to touring there is no better tourer than the ultra limited. I had an 11 and with the fairing, lowers, heated grips, and tall windshield you can pretty much ride in any weather and still be comfortable.

 

Love mine. I cruise to work on it 75-80 mph on the highway and it's a sheer pleasure.

Pro...you'll have a new '13 Ultra Classic.

Con...you'll have new '13 payments.

 

I love mine as well. Lots of extras, plenty of power (stock) and very comfortable.

 

Went from a 12 Heritage Softail Classic, to a 13 Ultra Limited. NIGHT & DAY.
The FLHTK is SO much better all around! Almost....
The draw back that I'd complain about is the heat from the cat on a hot day, it's almost unbearable to sit in traffic with that much heat generated from the bike.
