Don't do it for the "thank you", go it to pay it forward.

I, myself, offer my appreciation when someone helps me. I, in turn, try to help someone else. I expect nothing in return. Only the hope that, that person pays it forward themselves.

That said, this is certainly the Entitlement Generation.

Where i work at the young guys, i say under 25 or so are some of the rudest, ill-mannered, inconsiderate azzhats i've ever met in my life. or maybe its a PA thing..

Please, thank you, yes ma'am, no ma'am, yes sir, no sir were common phrases in my house growing up.

I generally start my posts with "Thank you for any help or info you can provide", that way if i get caught up in the post and forget to express my gratitude its already taken care of. I believe most folks are very willing to share their knowledge but it seems a few go out of their way to criticize and belittle. I am of the opinion that we all can learn something new no matter what our experience level, but when you are slammed for asking and trying to learn it kind of throws you off and you may forget to thank those who are genuinly trying to be helpful.
