New Windshield and Noise Question

New Windshield and Noise Question
I installed a Del Rio Memphis Shade windshield last week and on Saturday the weather broke, so I took out the bike for a test ride. It didn't take more then a couple of miles to appreciate the reduction of cold air on my chest. However, immediately when I started the bike I notice a new and annoying echo of engine noise. It never occurred to me, nor did I ever read a comment about increased engine noise with a windshield, but guess it makes sense now. If I think about it, with a wind shield, we now have a large piece of plexy glass shielding us from the wind, but at the same time it's also shielding any noise from behind or below the shield, like motor noise, from dissipating. Instead, it's focusing and bouncing the noise right back in my face. At idle and up to about 35 mph, this noise is pretty annoying. Mostly because it's more of an echo like noise. Kind of like being in a cave or tunnel. By the end of the day and 40+ miles later, I pretty much forgot about the noise. Plus the reduction of cold air on my chest certainly is worth a little added noise while at a stop light.
Do you guys/gals also experience engine echo noise bouncing back at you with your windshield?

Seriously, you do get used to the various noises. There comes a point when you realize you've been hearing the same ones for enough miles that you KNOW your scoot isn't going to blow up and you just accept it.

RE: New Windshield and Noise Question
The engine noise is going be more noticeable, that’s just the way it is. But the reduction in wind blast is certainly worth it especially during long runs on the interstate. Just get out there and ride, you will gradually get used to it.

Okay, enough jokes
I'm not familiar with your particular shield, but check if there is any possibility to change the tilt angle. If so, you may want to experiment a little to see which angle minimizes the noise.

RE: New Windshield and Noise Question
Thanks for all the comments, even the funny ones. Yes, the shield does have some angle adjustment as well as height adjustment. I did move it up a 1/2" to hopefully eliminate the little buffeting I experienced on Saturday. Now if the dang cold rain would just stop (Oregon) I will definitely experiment with angle as well as with height.
