Default Tire Time!

Yes that lovely time of your bikes life when you open up your wallet, turn it upside down and dump all your money out. Anyway, I need a front and rear. Have a rear Avon Venom and I like the tire still grips well but it's not going to pass inspection. I have 5k on the tire right now and 12.5k on my front dunlop.

Considering Commander II's now that they've been out for awhile what kind of life did you get out of yours?

Commander II's are getting good reviews. I researched them along with the new Metzeler ME 888. If w/w's are not needed, the 888's are the way to go. Dennis Kirk and Jake Wilson have the best tire prices most often. The Dunlop Elite 3's are also good.

I have had them on my Road King with over 5K on them and look like new. A guy I ride with has 11K and his rear still looks almost new. Jury is still out as I won't make a final judgement until I see for myself how much better than 10,500 out of the Dunlop E III I had been running. Would also be curious to see what kind of reports come from those running the new Metzler 888's.

Have had a Commander II on the rear for about 2500 miles and love it. Just put the mate for it on the front and couldn't believe the difference in handling from the Dunlop to Commander II.

Hmmm...

Yeah I think they're my next buy like I said I like the Avons but I can't justify paying $55 more over the michelins and having the rears at least last a shorter amount of time.

So far, 4K front/rear on Commander IIs and they look like new. Love em so far. I never got more than 15k/7.5k on the Metzler 880s.

10k on the rear and no end in site. Put on a new matching front. Can't comment on the wear, but it grips real nice.
