Default Metz ME880 springing leaks!

Oops, I meant ME880

I was out the other night & my rear tire on the Heritage started losing air very slowly. By the time I made it home (about 20 miles) it was 2/3 down & had about 15 pounds of air. I found a pinhole in the center of the tire. No nail or screw or damage, just a tiny pinhole leak so I plugged it for now. Tonight it lost another 15 pounds of air but the puncture passed the soap bubble test so I kept checking. Bingo, another pin hole without any metal in it about a foot away from the other. Again it was a very tiny pinhole leak so I plugged it again. Very weird, the tire has about 4000 miles on it with plenty of thread. I wonder if it's defective. No other way to explain it.

BTW, new tire is on the way for replacement.

That stinks. I had a rear flat one time on a tire with about 3k on it. Gash cut so no choice but to replace the Dunlop EIII. Now I am running Michelin Commander II's and using Ride On and feel pretty confident.

i'm running the same tire on my 18" rear and although it says tubless, i'm rockin an inner tube. I still have a small leak that I have tend to about every 2 weeks... i'm not sure what tires to switch to that are white walls and long lasting.

I ordered the same tire as the front looks like its still new but I'm beginning to think I should have replaced both with a different mfg's tire.

If you have a tube and it's leaking, there's your problem. Check the valve in the stem in case it's leaking, if not take the tube out and replace it, Check the tire for anything that would puncture the new tube. If the tire still has lots of tread on it a new tube should cure the leak.,,

Dam I just installed these. I heard there's 2 places of origin, Germany and Brazil. The Brazilians were having issues.

Sounds like you may have run over a board or something with small nails sticking up. If the holes are that small, I'd put a tube in it an ride on.

Sorry about your problem. I have been running ME880's for 7 years and never had the problem you described. Like others have said, put a new tube in the tire and ride on.

Mine is tubeless and it still has a slow leak. I'll just replace it as a new one is due in on Wednesday. I'll check the inside to see if I can spot the culprits!
