Does anyone know how much a GOOD salesman could make a year selling for a large Harley dealership ?

I've been is sales for over 25 years, in an industry that is rapidly disappearing. I've been mulling over changing career paths.

Any info would be appreciated.

It's all about how good of a salesman you are ... And if you work under commission or salary .. The ones here in the south do pretty well

To OP- pay plans will vary from store to store, so it's hard to say. It really depends on the management as to how you will get treated. You will need to check it out. I'm sure there is a lot of turnover.
I've worked in dealers and it's great being around bikes, it's just inconsistent work in many areas. Remember, you will be spending your days inside during the busy riding season, so you will miss out on a lot of good riding weather. And in the off season it might be pretty hard to survive.

 

If you ain't selling them down here in the deep south, where you can ride year round, I'd think you'd starve.

 

I bet ya' could make as much as the dealer pays ya.

 

Im a salesman in massachusetts and it has its ups and downs.
Every dealer is different some work off of a draw others I've heard of getting a weekly salary with 5-8% commission on profit.Most dealers including mine work off the lemco sales process which im not a fan of.Also you'll be working just about every weekend.
