Get a clear plastic hose and siphon it out .
Clear is so you know when to stop before it gets in your mouth .
Or any old simple type of suction device, with a Mr. goodpumpbeing a very good one( auto stores ).
Leave the cap off & let the rest evaporate .
I think I would put a little stabil in the gas first for the gas left in the carb .

Any reason he can't go for a 30-40 mile ride and run it empty?

Appreciate the offer...I'll see what she has to say about that.

She is actually has a 'variable rate'...After reading her manual, I found out that she can be adjusted 'on the fly' by applying presure to a spot on the backof her head.

Disconnect the feed line from the petcock, and take off the fuel cap.

Oh, and have a bucket ready.
And make sure the engine is not hot. Then with the hose still off take a shop vac and put in in reverse (blowing) mode and put the hose in the fuel filler opening and this will blow out all the remaininggas......put a rag over the hose end as well. Then when all the fuel is purged keep blowing air through the system until the tank is completely dry inside. Then close it up and you are done. Some guys will spray a little Marvel Mystery oil in the tank if it is to be left empty for an extended period to prevent rust.
