Pull the wire to the rear brake sender to isolate if its front or rear sender related. Have you changed levers recently? Welcome to the forum also.

Sometimes all it takes is loosening the front brake lever to adjust the angle of the dangle, it's a momentary switch that is pushed in until you pull the lever....then it pops out and thus the brake light illuminates.
But soft 02 is right......most easy to unplug the rear sender to isolate.

Yeah man......welcome to the post, you can learn a whole lot here.

Check the break pedal is returning properly. Mine siezed on the shaft even though there is a teflon bush, See if you can lift the pedal and it goes out. If it does remove the pedal and slightly ream out the bush. Good luck. Welcome to the Forum and post your findings and fix

My wife has a 08 soft tail heritage and I have the same problem with it. First thing you need to do is determine if it's the front or rear brake. Our problem is the front brake push the brake lever forward if the light goes out that's your problem to. I've replaced the brake lever didn't help. Then I replaced the bushing and pin which holds on the lever that worked for a few days I've tried every adjustment I can with the the positioning of the master cylinder on the handle bars. The only thing left to do is to replace the master cylinder. Harley has a poor design

My brake light was staying on all the time as well. As already mentioned, pull the wire of of the rear brake sending unit (on the brake line behind the rear brake reservoir) and verify which unit has failed.

If it turns out to be the rear brake which was my problem, a new hydraulic sender switch will be needed. They are around 20 bucks from the MoCo. You will need to vacuum bleed the rear brake after the new switch is installed.
