Can you junp start a bike from a car without damage to the bike?

Yeah, as long as they're both 12 volt systems.

OP its fine regardless, most vehicles are 12 volt this day and age

I don't know the exact reason why, but was told this along time ago, and have always followed the advice. I have not had a need with my Street Glide, but my chop seemed to need a jump often.

Sure can. Been there and done it. And yes, the car can be running when you jump it.

Good battery vehicle should be OFF.
Key out of ignition on good battery vehicle.
The old rev the good vehicle while trying to start the dead vehicle could prove costly.
Reason: some modern cars and motorcycle have sensitive electrical components and it is very easy to get a voltage spike that creates costly damage.
You can be lucky a dozen times and then your luck runs out.
Notice how those jump start packs are sold almost everywhere.

push start or trickle charger for me. If i charge my battery from a car i remove the battery cables from battery to the bike. Fried the charging system in an R6 i had a long time ago.
