Well good luck. I wonder how old you are?

My buddy is 74 and is still a great rider. He looks like he's in his 50s.
Many through bad habits, accidents, or genetics age catches up to them sooner.

I respect your decision. It takes a real man to admit when he's "done". Please do us a favor and stick around the forums though. The newer guys to riding, like me, need the insight and experience from you older guys so we might be able to make the wise decisions in our future. Cheers to you in your "retirement".

I respect you for knowing when to let go. Some folks can't, whether it's sports, driving, or riding.

However, I would encourage you to look into things that might make you more able to ride. I have no idea what your age is, or your overall health. But generally, you'd be surprised how much changing diet, or other behaviors can effect the aging process.

I am only 43, and I am guessing you are at least 60. However, in the last few months I've lost about 10 pounds and am working on another 10 by just eating less and hitting the treadmill four to five days a week.

It's made a very big difference on my joints and overall energy level. It's even improved my sleep habits.

Did not really want to read this as it hits close to home. I know everyone faces this decision sometime but the closer I get the less I like to think about it. Thanks for the post it was a good idea to pass on what you have learned.

We will all reach that point one day.
You are blessed to have so many years/miles of riding over the years.
God Bless you and yours...
