Hanging them Up - This time for good

Lencap...I did the same as you, for the same reason, when I sold my '75 FXE after 6 years of riding. All I could think of was crashing and the fun was gone, then so was my bike.
Good Luck in whatever you do next!

It is best to call the shots on when to end riding. So, good for you.
I have been riding since 1956 and keep my skills up by riding more and more each year. I love riding in the winter. Almost no traffic and many smooth roads in this area.
I believe that I have a few years left before I need to face that decision. A side car site had a fellow who was 85 and still touring. We are all different.

Best of luck. I like the words of wisdom but would like to add that I am a much younger guy and after riding for years, I still have off days that make me question some aspect of my riding. Just like everything else we do in the world, there are always highs and los. Before you decide to turn in your two-wheels, consider that. If you are done, again, best of luck.

Do you think it's an erosion of your skills (not so IMHO), or a function of slowing reactions and lessening of strength? I ask this as a 59-1/2 y.o. who feels like he could ride forever but whose brain of course knows otherwise.
Best of luck in whatever strikes your interest!
