RE: So I am thinking about a power commander...
I already have stage 1 and the download, as I bought my bike like it is now. I am just thinking maye it will go faster, and I can get rid of the occasional poppinbg like this. I understand it opens a whole new door Rhubarb. My other question is does it come with a different tray to put the ecm and pc in? this doesn't have that either. Oh, and if I find a non usb model, how do I get the maps on to it?

WHAT HE SAID!
If it's not broken, don't fix it! I've learned that over 30 years with bikes.

Your bike aint broke!
Don't fix what aint broke!
Power Commander will introduce a whole new level of having to fool with it.
Use the money to buy something shiny!
Yes I'm using a lot of exclamation points.

I did have the Stage 1 with download, SE filter and Rush pipes. Yes, the PC made a major difference, according to the ever-reliable butt-dyno, and took care of the residual backfiring as well.

Did you by chance have the stage one with filter prior to adding it and if so was there noticable change in power ??

Thanks, I have the stage one and vance &hines, Jamie sold me with what he said over the phone. I know they make a huge difference on my sportbikes. Its literally the difference between 2nd and 3rd gear wheelies with the throttle.

Difference between IIIr and III usb?
Difference between IIIr and III usb?
USB version allows you to tune each cylinder independently, and also add other 'expantion' modules.
Youshoulld be very happy with the PCIII...Losta functionality. The only 'major' difference between it and the SERT is the lack of REV Limiter control. It is certainly worth your time to start looking @ the maps that are available on the Power Commander website. You download all of them as a single ZIP file - and see the different configurations for your bike.
9 out of 10 times you can find a map that will work..and then you can 'tweak' it for your riding style, elevation, etc...ALSO - make sure you download the 'Accelerator Pump' program...Makes for a nice little 'kick' in quick throttle situations.
If you have any questions about the configuration, shoot me a PM.
peace.

you can down load all that you need from the power commander web site you do not need the CD. You will love your PC III. It was the best thing I ever put on my bike. And I took off a rev tech adjust the pot style fuel controler to install it.

I'm looking at the Power Commander also...
My question is - can I buy it online, order it preprogrammed with the basic setting for the waymy bike's set up and then if necessary take it to a shop for a dyno-tune and final adjustment? With the USB and software it sounds like you can come pretty close to correct with the right download is that true or no?
I do plan to do the dyno-tune, but can save almost $100 on the cost of the PC if I get it online here and the ride the bike in and ask for a dyno tune. Am I missing something or would that be a good way to do it?
Thanks!
