Did you talk to them or listen in on what they were talking about? How did you determine what kind of persons they were or how knowledgeable they were? It sounds like you base your conclusion on how they were dressed. How do you know that they were not accomplished mechanics? How many forum members do you consider posers or want to be’s because some may wear HD shirts or boots. It sounds like they were having a good time and were not handing you any grief. Why do you rag on them?

Since I am a wannabe. Does that mean that my friends that work on their own bikes should stop riding with me? I don't want them to not be considered "real bikers" because of me. How about you guys that do your own wrenching. Do you refuse to ride with people that don't wrench their own ride? Come to think of it, should I stop associating with people that are not at the same level as me at work? There is a significant knowledge barrier between us. I think I will go in tomorrow and tell them to all stay away from me.

I was a wannabe for a long time. Couldn't afford a Harley before and swore I would never visit a dealership or wear anything Harley till I was ready to buy one. Now that I have the bike I live the lifestyle. I wear Harley shirts all the time because I am making a statement to myself that I finally made it to Harley Land!I worked my butt off to get this beast and have to work a lot to pay for it but that's ok. You can bet when summer gets here I'll be out cruising all the time decked out in Harley gear from head to toe. Why? Because it took me a long time to get here and I'm proud of it!
