Default 1995 Road King

I am buying a 1995 Road King for my second HD. It has 1,100 miles on it and is all original. It is garage kept and is running.

What maintenance should I have done before taking it on a long trip?

Tires?
Belt?
Fluids?
Carb?

I would say all of them, but if it is running well, you could skip the carb.

Also might wanna throw in a new battery. Check brake & signal lights.

If you're not a skilled Wrench take it to a dealer or Indy and get it checked out. Rubber parts may have deteriorated and require a skilled eye to evaluate.

Definitely get new tires if they are over 6 years old, which they probably are.

Have battery load tested.

Good luck.

I'm always amazed by the super low miles. You think after a few years of non use you would sell. Then again my dad has a 85 goldwing aspencade 1800 with a 1994 plate sticker.

I'd be weary of something that low miles. If they didn't bother to drive at all the tank is probably varnished and the like

Tires fluids. And most rubber prob should be replaced. But if the price is right and it starts it might be a super deal.

We bought my wife's 95 Sportster last year with a little over 1600 miles on it. Sat in a shed most of it's life. We replaced battery, tires and all fluids. She has already trippled the milage and no problems.

I wish I had my '95 back. Far and away my favorite bike. Totaled in a crash that darn near killed me. The best seat ever on a Harley.
What color is this one?
