So I'm thinking of getting a Daytona Eagle novelty helmet for warmer weather and was wondering if anyone had any experience wearing one; decent quality, wind, any safety or screwed if you go down? I plan on getting a full face as well, but for shorter rides, especially during summer, this seems like a nice, non-mushroom looking helmet.

 

Is there ANY novelty helmet any of you would recommend? The 1/2 I have now (Skid lid) slides off my head pretty easy, so I'd like something that sits and stays lower, as well as a non-mushroom look, and at least semi dependable safety-wise?

 

I like the novelty helmets by Voss. Very comfortable in my opinion. I wear the Jockey, but also have the Beanie.

 

Since it's called a "novelty" helmet that should tell you something about it's quality and safety.

I was right behind a women in Hawaii one night when she wrecked. When she hit, her el cheapo half helmet came off and she was bleeding profusely from a head wound. She lost consciousness and quit breathing while a couple of off duty medics were working on her. Never did hear anything further but if you want a helmet for safety or whatever be sure it will not come off. It's your head so wear what you want.

I have one . It's my favorite helmet. It fits tite,doesnt ride up,is comfy and lite.
Not too hot either.
