I have a 24' 8' wide and 12' by 7' wide it pretty much use all the width for two big bikes in the 7'. But I know people that haul two in a 6' wide.
You may have to stagger the bikes in a 6'

I had a 6X12 and a 7X14. Buy the bigger trailer. 7 foot wide is a minimun in my opinion.
The 6X12 was great for one bike but the 7X14 was a custom made Cargo Mate I had made a couple of years ago. Never pulled it on the road before I had to sell it. I had about 5800.00 in it. 2 condors, extra diamond plate and lighting along with plenty of etrac and d rings. If I every get the cash again I will have another one.

I have a 16x7 and haul a FLHTK and a FLSTN in it with plenty of room to spare for all the luggage and extra crap that tends to come back home from a long vacation. I would not go less than 14x7 personally.

I have a 7 by 14 and wish I had bigger. Get a 16ft. minimum. Also look for the maker that has a 8.5 x 16 trailer. You will be A LOT happier with that one than a 7 ft wide. Just saying from experience. that extra 6-8 inches you get from the wider trailer your bikes will appreciate.

If you know, you'll never need room for more then 2 bikes, a 14x7 is plenty big and room to spare for gear. Make sure you get a V-nose for MPG and dual axles.
Sure, you can go bigger, but only you know if it's worth the extra cost, size and weight.
I'd be looking hard at a aluminum trailer!

The weight and handling differences are negligible between a trailer that is barely able to do the job, and a trailer that can easily and comfortably do the job of transporting two heavy motorcycles plus all the support gear needed while living on the road. I'd get one with plenty of capacity for doing other jobs, like moving a house-full of furniture.
If your towing vehicle is up to the task make certain your trailer is, also.

6x12 Haulmark is what I have. Two Softails, a Heritage and a Standard, fit no problem with room for a cooler, tool box, camp chairs and other misc. stuff. A 7x14 with tandem axles would be sweet, but I get by with the 6x12.
