Torque wrenching
#2
I have never used a torque wrench because I've never owned one. I would always tighten things up until nice and snug. That was before.......I just bought two torque wenches (Sears Craftsman) in lbs and ft lbs and will be torqueing everything down to specs now.

This link is a thorough discussion of torque wrench types, drive size, and unit size.
Personally, over the last few years Ive gotten them at different times, but they are made by snap on, but not snap on brand (sold at my local napa), and are the click type.
As for drive size and units, 3/8" ft lbs, 3/8" inch lbs, and 1/4" inch lbs.
Just my .02

I like to use the click type twist-n-lock torque wrenches. Be sure to check the range of the wrench when buying though. I purchased an inch pound unit that starts at like 100 inch pounds, not much use....
