My toys have been stored in a cold garage for 40 yrs.other than bare cast iron or steel, and a good spring cleaning nothing is bothered internally. At first I was a little **** about that. There will never be anything to worry about unless your toy sits beside a window that the sun can hit it.Now that you DO NOT want to do!!!!

Condensation will happen when the temperature of the object, in this case the bike,is the same as the dew point temperature..........

Well, the bike is in a non heated garage, but I have a propane heater I light everycouple of daysso it is just warm enought to work out for an hour or so. No Randy, no drier venting there
No windows near, either Dog, just about a bike length in from the doors. ( which have insulation stuffed all around the edges)

So just leave it be til the winter is done & then reclean it ??

Thanks guys

this may be beating the topic to death but oh well, the only way I can see that you are getting moisture is because of a temp change in the garage. Warmer air will hold more moisture and as the air cools it hits a dew point where it can no longer support the amount of moisture in it, the moisture then collects onto the best conductors available.

But if I leave it be, the bike will be ok ( given a thorough cleaning , weather permitting)? I am thinking, from what you all have said, it is the on-again-off-again heating of the shop that is the problem..... so that would mean no working out til lawn-mowing time..hmmm....

Budweiser, anyone???

Katie....If you have all your chrome polished you will probably be ok....I however neglected to use chrome polish on my rear pulley and that "on- again off-again" condensation caused surface rust on that pulley....It cleaned up ok but it did cause the rust....Try the fan....seriously...Scott

Thank you Scott,, but duh-me moment.. will the fan simply just blow all the cold air around??What good is that?? Bike was 'put to bed' squeaky clean & polished..... Is it not the heater sporadically heating & then allowing the air to cool, causing my question?
