What goes on at a H.O.G. rally?

HOG rallies are a good excuse for a road trip, regardless of whether I take part in any rally activities. And not just HOG rallies -- a couple of years ago I rode with a couple of friends up to Huntsville, AL, for the Great Chicken Rally. That's a BMW rally (and you think HOG rallies are dull?). They were really nice people to camp with, served a great pancake breakfast, but we spent the days on the road, toured Jack Daniels distillery, visited Barber Motorsports Museum, etc.

I don't like the idea of paying a big entry fee. I figured b/c of the dues you pay that going to events would be covered. Every time I see that one is occurring close enough I try to go. I figure even if it sucks ***, I got a good road trip in. So far no events have worked out. Even if it had I think I'd have turned around and left once they asked me to pay'em to get in. I did attend the Open House at York last September. I think the only time anyone asked if I belonged to HOG was when I had to show my card to get the pin (to go with all the other pins I've never worn). There was no cover charge.

HOG has a "Run to the Border" (Canadian border) up here in WA state every year. My son-in-law and I rode from Wenatchee to Omak with 'em (about 90 miles). Lotsa bikes and I gotta say it was kinda cool listening to that many Harleys at once. Never considered joining, though, and have no idea what else they're up to. Seemed like regular folks to me, no problem there. But I like to know the folks I'm riding with, not tag along with a bunch of strangers.

It's a reason to ride . If you have ever been to a dealer bike night its the same thing . Ride during the day . Drink eat and listen to the band at night . I go to people watch ride and meet others that enjoy there Harleys . Fun looking at all the bikes .

Looking online at my local HOG chapter, there is a pretty hot granny with some tattoos. I hate to judge age, but I bet she is pushing 60 and looks damn good for 60 and I am 41.
