Got the Mini-Beast

Got the Mini-Beast
I recently bought a new (to me) '07 FLSTN and decided to upgrade the puny stock horn to a Mini-Beast (as I've done on past bikes). I placed an order direct with Pro Pad on Thursday morning, 2/21st, free shipping since it was over $100. Later that day I received an email confirmation of the order and payment. Still later that day I received another email advising that the horn was on a 2-3 week backorder -- irritating but no real big deal. Then next day (Friday 2/22nd) I got a third mail from Pro Pad saying they had shipped a package to me -- that left me a bit concerned that something had gone awry with the order.
Yesterday morning 2/26th I received the horn with a note enclosed saying "GOOD NEWS... WE GOT IT READY SOONER THAN WE THOUGHT! ENJOY!!!"
Just thought I'd share a positive experience. <g>

I recently ordered some parts for my washing machine. After placing the order over the phone I received an email saying that it would probably be three weeks before they could ship due to availability.
Two days later the parts showed up at my door.
Back when I was wrenching on Harleys, I made it my habit to always tell the customer that it would take at least three days longer to finish their bike than I thought it would. That gave me plenty of cushion in case I ran into a problem. Most often I wouldn't have any problem and when I would call the customer a couple days earlier than they were expecting and tell them their bike was ready they were normally ecstatic.
I sometimes wonder if that is a tactic being used today in the "Mail Order" business to cut down on complaints if an order takes longer than it should to get out?
Glad you had a good experience and shared it here. Way to much whining and not enough (when deserved) back patting goes on anymore.

Glad you like the mini-beast. I had one, but the mounting was so inadequate that the damn thing shook itself loose all the time. Eventually the horn itself failed too, and they wanted $100 to replace it. Went back to the old one. Miss the adequate horn, don't miss the hastle of keeping it attached to my bike.

It's a good unit, but you should modify the bracket and make it more stable.
My last one was like that too.
I just have the standard horn on now.
I think that being seen is as much or more important,
and as such have incorporated the Kisan headlight modulator.
I seriously think that you should also consider this mod too.
