I used to race mx for a friend who had a bike shop. after i got my car driving license, i asked him if i could borrow one of his street bikes to take my mc licence test. i though he was going to point at a old kaw 500, but he through me the key to his new Moto Guzzi LeMans.
that was 31 years ago.
that shop was a blast, he sold macio's and KTM's, it was called pro cycle works. just down the street his buddy had a harley repair shop, i used to hang out there also. i remember iron horsemen coming in looking all bad ***, then they go back in the service area, and for some reason they come back all happy and smiling, hmmm.

 

I have had a motorcycle license for 35 years. Never had to take a test for one, even when moving to other states. So it certainly doesn't prove whether or not I can handle a motorcycle.

had mine since 18 ....a long time ago

 

Went several years without...took the riding/written test and got the endorsement probably 5-6 years ago...needed it to rent a bike in Vegas.Shortly after I got it, I got pulled over on the way to work on my Honda Interceptor for a illegal U-turn...got a warning only but with no endorsement I might have been towed/ticketed. Glad I had it!

 

I got mine as soon as I started street riding more than driving my car.

Practiced doing uturns in my small two car driveway on my Sportster until I could do it without putting my feet down. The read the pamphlet 3 times. Aced the written. The testor literally laughed at me when I did the ridde part. He said he'd never seen someone go through the cones so SLOW without touching cones or ground! Almost aced the riding test.


Don't be afraid of the test if you are thinking about it. Simply practice up and go for it!
Or better yet, take the riding classes!

20 plus years without. Then i went to buy a new RoadKing in 03 and needed one for financing and cheaper insurance so did the MSF course and then the advanced and still have never been stopped. All in all both classes were eye opening at the least.

 

I've had one, on and off since 1967. Just renewed it again last month. I think this time I keep it, even after this bike goes.

Irode a Sears Mo-Ped for two years without any drivers lic., unitl I was stopped for speeding, it's hard to speed on a Mo-Ped, but still got caught. Got off with a warning and a lecture.

 

Since 1969....took my test on a honda dream (remember them???)

Got my first bike when I was 8 years old (Honda Minitrail 50) just got endorsed last year, I'm 43. I took the advanced rider course and realized that I had adapted quite a few bad habits over the years. I would recommend this course to anyone that is thinking about getting endorsed.
