Nah, the 18wheeler driver doesn't necessarly fall under the idiot driver category. What happened to me was a mix of overconfidence and bad luck.
I'm glad to hear so many good experiences with progressive, specially since I just got my 60 day lay off notice in the mail

Hahaha yeah indeed.

Get well soon. Lane splitting isn't legal here and if it was I don't think I'd do it.

Ahh, the old 91 morning crush. Glad to hear your OK. I used to split from Corona to Newport Beach when it become a parking lot. Never would from Corona to San Berdoo, too many lane hoppers.

Lesson learned, we all need a wake up call sometimes!

Wow! Glad you're okay. Lane splitting always seemed risky to me. It's illegal here in Illinois.

Glad you are OK. You guys are brave out there. All I want to do is get away from 18 wheelers and other motorcycles beside me in their own lane. Sort of being in a body of water with 10 jet skies around you. My opinion is Russian roulette with a Government M1911 45 auto would be safer. Guess if your interstate is parade speed it's OK but around here they are doing 100 in the 55 and if you block the left lane at 90 they pass you on the shoulder

Hahaha you know what I mean...my commute is also from Riverside to Newport Beach. From now on is also about fasttrack, where traffic flows nicely. You're right, the last time I rode from Corona to Berdoo I had a frogger like experience , trying to dodge cars and lane hoppers.

Quick update, I just got off the phone with the Harley Davidson dealership mechanics and the prognosis is not so bad, the bike needs, new foot boards, levers, crash bars, one mirror, heat shield, a muffler and a corner of the batwing fairing. No mechanical damage so I'm super stocked! All I gotta do now is wait to visit the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow and see what's the prognosis on my ankle

A kid on a Kawi went down on the 215 at Columbia this morning, he passed traffic at the 10 overpass and was splitting at high speed just prior to me coming up on the scene. Looked like he was alive and he had a bunch of help already so I didn't stop.
