Default Scary Manuals!

Just picked up a new HD and read through the manuals, both owner and service. I was amazed at the number of ways a person could cause himself Death or Serious Injury. What have I gotten myself into???

Who needs assisted suicide? Just get a Harley and DON'T READ THE MANUAL!!

LoL, you know they had to add that or someone would do what they shouldn't and then blame someone else.

All manuals are that way. Even a torque wrench has many warnings from putting your eye out to electrocuting yourself.

Have you ever read all the labels on a step ladder?

This has been going on for decades now. Where have you had your head stuck in?

Yes, 4X4, I realize that. I've been reading manuals for about 5 decades now and have seen the changes over the last half-century. To help you understand my post, get a dictionary and look up "irony".

Haha yeah I notice all the warnings also when looking at a new manual. Buy a gun recently? I just bought a lever action .22 and the manual was 18 pages.

12 pages were warnings all causing injury, serious injury or death. These are the first pages of the book. Followed by:
3 pages were on actually operating the gun (loading, unloading, shooting, tear down)
1 page was trouble-shooting problems
2 pages were on ordering replacement parts and warranty information.

That's what happens when Lawyers rule the world...

It's too bad when you hire a lawyer you don't get a list of warnings and precautions.

You ought to read the warning lable on a curling iron "do not insert into any body orifices". Really?
