Any HOGS members? Looking for some ideas.
I recently took over the Activities Officer position for the Mid Missouri Chapter of the HOGS. I am looking for some fun idea's of things I could do after meetings for the members. This is not my first time heading up activities for a group, but being new to riding (only been riding for a year) I am struggling for fun things.
Any HOGS members on here have any idea's of fun (possibly simple/cheap) things I could organize before or after meetings....? What worked for your group? What have you enjoyed?
Let me hear what you got!
Also, is there a HOGS forum posting category? Didn't see one.

I know a few bar HOGS...
Hell, my mother was one. But I thought the harley owners group was singular in it's vernacular, as in no S on the end. You could say "We are all HOGs." Or, "Will you hogs hush, so the HOG meeting could come to order?". But, I don't believe it would be correct to say "(Are there) any HOGS members (here)?" Although, your title for this thread may be correct... It could very well be that some HOGS are members.
Maybe you could host a HOG spelling bee? J/K...
No I'm not a H.O.G. member, although I do own a Harley.

The overwhelming percentage of HOG members I have seen in person are, how can i put this nicely, quite large. Maybe a food based poker run once a month would go over well. Meet at The Waffle House, stop at Burger King, proceed to Dairy Queen, finish up at the dealership where the winning hand will receive a bucket of The Colonels Original Recipe, taters and gravy, and some biscuits. Before everyone disperses they can sit around and talk about the old days when they were the meanest SOB on two legs.
Welcome aboard brudda. It's all in good fun.

Observation runs are always fun, you need an imagination to set one up. There's always poker runs but who doesn't do those. An occasional over night ride to a point of interest.
It helps to find a pet charity and run fun money raisers (see above) during the year. Ours, MDA, ends with a ride to the MDA camp to give the kids rides in sidecars. It really brings the club together.
Our local chapter has a weekly ride, Friday night rides, road captained by different individuals who find different destinations. Usually about an hour ride to dinner but, use your imagination.

Usually most hog runs end at a restaurant....which gets tedious.
Depends a lot on the clubs members , if you have a fun loving crowd then almost any activity will be good times, if they're anything like the hog mob I just left then you could have tough time planing anything. Last straw for me was an organized ride out to.... Mini golf !?!
Trips to weird and whacky places, museums, amusement parks are usually fun. Ghost town trips usually make for a great ride and an interesting destination.
And have more parties

I think he was looking for things before and after the meetings. We used to do 50/50 drawings, give away stuff for most miles for the month, longest single ride, Introduce those with new bikes and let them tell about them. Have your LOH director plan a Valentines deal ( women love that crap) Have the service manager come in and answer questions. have the motorclothes manager have a fashion show ( heavy on leather but thin on clothes) . Have a tattoo contest. Your dealership should be happy to help you with some small prizes to give away. AFter the meeting, then you go and eat. Man has to have his priorities here.

How about a breakfast served at the meeting with a donation jar. What about getting some donations from the local dealership and other businesses for a monthly raffle after the meeting. How about a Harley or Missouri themed trivia contest?
