Any HOGS members? Looking for some ideas.

I know a few bar HOGS...
Hell, my mother was one. But I thought the harley owners group was singular in it's vernacular, as in no S on the end. You could say "We are all HOGs." Or, "Will you hogs hush, so the HOG meeting could come to order?". But, I don't believe it would be correct to say "(Are there) any HOGS members (here)?" Although, your title for this thread may be correct... It could very well be that some HOGS are members.
Maybe you could host a HOG spelling bee? J/K...
No I'm not a H.O.G. member, although I do own a Harley.

Hey bro, don't have to spend a lot of time. We only meet once a month for meetings. But with us, we schedule lots of rides. All are optional. If you are looking to just get out and cruise with other Harley guys, might be worth looking into. Or just show up.
Plus, the state conventions are always a good time. lol

My situation is that I don't live close to Dallas, so that's not good. And my wife works at a nursing home, 4 days on and 2 off and 3-11pm. Like this month, she's off one Saturday and she likes riding as much as I do, so I try to include her as much as I can.
Thanks for the info!

I have only been to one HOG meeting. I got a free membership to the dealer chapter when I got my bike last year. The people are nice but I didn't care for it. Most of the people are a lot older than me.
For an activity, maybe a group ride to a dental clinic? Asside from being overweight, I noticed a lot of the folks at the meeting had more than a few missing teeth and stuff like that. Which surprises me. Most of them ride the big touring bikes and they are relatively new. If you can afford a $30K dresser, that why not put a little asside to see the dentist?

It amazes me the amount of disrespectful posts this thread got.
Hope you all realize a lot of these guys (at least with my group) are vets. Please keep the comments on topic or keep them to yourself. I take pride with the guys I ride with, they have all been very good folks who have helped me out and taken me in.

If you're that uptight I'd hate to see what the rides are gonna be like. Are you going to make someone stand in the corner if they break formation ?

HOG chapters are what you put into them. If no one does anything but complain the chapter sucks if people participate it is allot of fun. I have been a member for 20 years belonging to several chapters. In the winter we have bowling, pool & dart nights most are not good at any of them but gets people together in the winter and always something to laugh about. Riding season is easier but still work for the one doing the planning. Observation runs you have to find things on State buildings or monuments like how many of a certain letter, fence posts ect. Take the ABC of touring HOG has and adapt it to just your state for your chapter. If you can talk to the activity person of another chapter see what they are doing. Some times you can set something up with both chapters. We had a contest between another chapter for total mileage for each chapter. Not everything has to end at a place to eat. Good luck think out of the box and above all ride and have fun.

Missouri has some great caves, and some might want to camp overnight near one. Some states have Weird ____
books (like Georgia) which could help design rides. I don't know- not a member. I'd want to meet old hands, listen to some tech workshops, win some risers...

I'm an "older guy" so maybe I have a shot! Seriously, I don't want being in a club to feel like a job. I guess I can be a HOG loner.

Yea, dont see why not. The one here was a 50 ish crowd and me being 30 something and all them with touring bikes and not one of them I talked to were mechanicly inclined. Hard to find common ground. Been ridin solo forever and used to it. Ride wit freinds every now and then.

Was a member of the local for 3 yrs, found it was not for me and yeah I am one of those 60 yr old grey haired bag riding geezers but they did do things like after the meeting had Pizza Hut or Domino's deliver a bunch of pizza's, someone broughta couple of those bigger boat coolers with water, soda and beer and we just hung out in the parking lot of the dealer, let them close up, some paper plates napkins and the dealers trash barrels was good to go, warm weather easy to do, hell even had someone crank some tunes from a car, just saying and the chapter pays or it
