Default House or bike?

Have taken a big cut on getting overtime, and will have to either sell the house or the bike. Decided to keep thebike. Which would you sell, the house or bike? Be honest.

Bike in a second. With the house comes more financial stability.
I'll get a new bike when I get back on my feet. New house, that's a lot more work.

I'm with Rhubarb...house is way more important to keep than a bike...any bike! (Well maybe not a jet bike like Jay Leno's....)

As much as I have loved every bike I've ever owned, I love my wife and family a whole helluva' lot more. There wouldNEVER come a day where my bike (or any of my hobbys/toys for that matter) would even remotely compromise my living situation and family security. I can respect those who would opt for keeing their bikes and selling their home instead. That doesn't make either party any more rigtheous, deserving, or dedicated in my mind's eye. Everyone's priorities vary from one individual to the next. At the end of the day, so long as you're at peace with your decisions, that's all that matters. The man said to be honest/candid.

Guess I had better add that I am single and stand to make about 50K in addition to what I have into house. Real estate market is really strong in this area right now

The problem with making money on real estate when the market is strong is that you still have to find a new place to live.

Bike would be sold without question.

The basic needs of my wife and son come first. (Shelter, clothing, food)

The bike in a second...

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS keep your quity money making investments over cash draning "toys"

Even though the market is strong now it WILL get stronger. Contrary to believe houses and real estate do not loose their value forever. Once you sale that house you will ahve to move into another place. Buy another house? well you said the market is hot... you'll pay top dollar. Move into an apartment? well that may suit you now but in a year or two when you want another house the market will be hotter and you'll find it Much Much harder to get into a home.

Don't forget that if you move, your trash day may change.

That could really disrupt your schedule!
