Thinking of going to the Progressive Motorcycle Show tomorrow? Any reviews????

 

If it's the same show that was in NYC last week, it's a good way to spend a few hours. Most of the major manufacturers were there, as well as many parts and apparel vendors. There was also a stunt riding exhibition, and food and drink concessions. Go in with modest expectations and you'll likely have a good time. Ticket was $18 ($16 with the discount code).

Nice show some good looking bikes but didn't blow me away.

Were going to the one in Novi this coming weekend.

 

Went to the show in Charlotte, NC last Feb. Always fun to see the newest stuff. There were also some vintage displays. My Gerbing thermostat had failed (it was actually in a flood, Hurricane Irene, don't ask!) and Gerbing had a booth there so I could replace it on the spot.

A little late for you but my 2 cents anyway. I usually go to the Progressive bike show every year at the IX center in Cleveland. This year Since I have a newer bike I didn't look at the bikes as much as I used to so I went mainly to check out the vendors and accessories for my bike. It was quite obvious to me that in the vendor department this show was clearly lacking as compared to years past. Plus there were no trikes there this year. As I'm aging my knees are getting really gimpy and I may consider a trike conversion at some point. I just noticed that many vendors that were there in years past were not there this year. Considering $8 to park an $15 to get in I probably won't go back. I figure many vendors are put off by the high fees the IX center charges for vendors to display their wares. Plus I'm sure some have done a cost/benefit analysis and determined they are not getting their money's worth at the Cleveland show. Years ago I used to display some of my photography at their largest art and craft show and the fees got so exhorbitant that I found other venues to sell my photography. I quit doing the art show thing to. I'd rather ride my bike. The old saying about "Starving Artists" is not just a cliché. But that's for another forum.

 

What were you expecting? Go to a movie and if you want a medium popcorn and a soda they hammer you for $10. Add in the average price of a ticket and you're between $20 - $25.

All I'm saying is this is reality in 2013.

Besides, at least at the bike show you can spend a few hours (or stay from beginning to end) and win a free chapstick courtesy of Progressive.
