January Doldrums!

January Doldrums!
Here we go again. The January doldrums are definately settling in! I had hoped in the worse way that with the "warmer" weather promised here in the northeast I would have been able to get some riding in this past weekend, but it was not meant to be. Upper 40's with heavy fog and mist keeps my bike in the garage. It's been for crap here for the last 3 weeks!
I took a ride (in the car) over to the dealer yesterday to pick up the extended shift levers that I ordered. A few cars in their lot, no bikes. I got my order, walked the floor of used and then new bikes, commented to the salesman that I guess I could skip the NY IMS show now and left for back home.
This time of year sucks here in NJ.

Well we are dealing with negative temps here. We have not had a high in the 40's in about a month. It is these months that make me work hard so I can retire and move south.

Man, I wish we had 40's here.
I ride all winter IF the roads are dry. We started the year with our chapter FYAO ride on Jan 1 in 20* temps.
I do a BBB ride every Sunday-weather permitting. The temps are usually in the 30*'s - not too bad. I finally bought a pair of heated pant liners so now I'm toasty warm from head to toe when the temps go below 30*.
Can't bring myself to spend over $30K on a bike and then not ride it for 5 month out of the year.
Ride warm and safe.

I hear you on the Jersey weather. I usually have a good case of cabin fever by now but waiting on my new mods is holding that off with the excitement. Can't wait to get it back and a dry road to try it out.

Ever since I can remember, I always HATED Janurary AND February! Always. I don't know how you northern gentlemen stand it up there. I really don't!

I hear you, Man. I've only been able to hit the streets about 5 or 6 times since winter set in, compared to last winter where I was out and about at least twice a week.
And just to make life even more fun, it's started snowing again.....

I share your pain, weather loons called for sunshine and 73 for Saturday.
Saturday - pea-soup fog until noon, then on and off rain.
Sunday - Beautiful, sunny, highs in the mid 70's - had to help daughter move.

I guess it's suckin everywhere. 20's & 40's expected here pretty much all week with possibility of snow Wednesday night & Thursday. This global warming thing hasn't worked out the way I wanted it down here. Yes, our winters are gradually getting colder (2 white x-mas's in 3 yrs - totally unheard of) but at the same time our summers seem to be getting hotter & longer. Anyway I usually get in a lot of riding this time of year - not happnin now.
