Exclamation *NEED HEAD HELP!* Thanks.

Okay. Im building a 107" including crank work and H beam rods. I have a Woods 555 cam. Well today I was inspecting my heads and found a crack. I'm going to be way over budget now. Im hitting up Ebay. I have heard pre 07 heads fit but flow is not as good as 07+. My budget is limited to $500

I found some 103" heads with ACR's on ebay. Are they better than the OEM 96" heads. All aftermarket heads are way out of my budget. I have a silver motor or I would buy 1 used head and port them down the road. Basicly what is your advice?

Im afraid if I get heads off of an 88 would hurt the 107.

Funny part is when you add everything up I've done to this motor after this I could have bought a S&S 124".

Yea i thought it was a scratch in the carbon. FML. Heads were not in the budget. Found some off of a touring bike and from what i can tell they will fit my softail. They also have ACR's. I will have to wire them to a custom switch though. I think i will get them.

I was looking for heads for my 04 on eBay, I think the only difference for touring is the holes drilled and tapped for mounting to the frame on the front head but should fit. I think I'm going to get the 120R instead of building mine.

I agree. Once you start diggin around the cost goes up. Heck sell your motor to recoupe some of the cost. Yes I found out that the only difference is the front motor mount. Im watching several heads on flee bay.

I'd thing U could score some 96''ers heads for decent coinage.

I also read that the 88''er are not as good in the flow area as the 96''er.

Keep looking, thinking U'll find a deal within Ur wallet..

Most in here have no clue what it cost to do a Engine up righteous.

Chit most in here wont even do Cams, Good tuner and dyno.. Just put there $$$ in Wheels, Bars and Seats for most for looks.

That thought crosses my mind often. With wheels that cost 3k and air shocks that cost 1200 and all the do dads you could really improve the function of your ride. Guess im a function over form guy. Im actually enjoying this process. Its coming up with the $$$ that is a pain. I always found it easy to fix things and wondered why people would pay me to do it but i've realized people are just wired different.

I got a line on about 8 sets of heads. They wont be silver like the motor but love sees no color!
